Sub Pop Announces Record Store Day Releases

Several releases are on tap for Sub Pop Records on April 16th.  These releases will be Record Store Day exclusives, including limited edition releases from Blitzen Trapper, Fleet Foxes & Lower Dens.  Also on the schedule are a 19-track Sub Pop Sampler & in-store performances from Low, Obits, The Head & The Heart.

As a bonus, The Head & The Heart will be releasing their self-titled debut release on CD and Vinyl, in celebration of the event.

Music For Relief has launched a new digital compilation to raise money for the relief effort in Japan.  Contributing bands include Linkin Park, Counting Crows, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Angels & Airwaves, Plain White T’s & Hoobastank, among others.

Free Remix & Single Details Announced by Beni

After logging in the road miles performing hundreds of DJ Sets, criss-cross touring around the globe & countless hours of studio time, Modular Recordings has announced the successful release of “House Of Beni”.  The set contains several remixes by Sneak, Eerodiscotigue (Dimitri from Paris + DJ Rocca), The Magician & Round Table Knights and will feature the lead single “It’s A Bubble” (w/ Sean Delear & Turbotito).

Matador Announces New Release From Thurston Moore

Matador Records announces a May 24th release date for a new 2LP/CD/Digital Album from Thurston Moore, titled “Demolished Thoughts.”  According to the label, this 9-song set is Thurston’s most “nuanced and personal”.  An interesting liner note is that Beck handled production duties for this project.  Summer touring plans will be announced closer to the release date.
